We are glad to share the euttaranchal.com’s visitor data as recorded be Google Analytics from Jan 2006 to May 2008. The number speaks for itself. We look forward for a better growth trend in the time to come. We are preparing our infrastructure so as to bear the load of new and returning visitors that will follow in the time to come.

In May 2008 alone, eUttaranchal received over 53,000 unique visitors, serving 2,65,535 pageviews aggregating to 36,50,694 hits. This accounted for over 31.82 GB of data transfer through the website!

eUttaranchal website gets a new facelit to improve user experience browsing throught the website. We tried to make use of optimum space available on the user screen. While we changed the navigation style, the core design element remained the same to give the same old feel.

The facelit was also necessary to incorporate loads of information that we will be putting on to the website in the next six months. We are just gearing up for that.

Doesn’t the post title seem unfamiliar to you at eUttaranchal.com? Of course, it should!

Adhara is the name of server where euttaranchal.com website is hosted. Recently some major Hardware and software upgrades were performed by the hosting service provider which went unnoticed by me affecting eUttaranchal services.

I started receiving queries from eUttaranchal Matrimonial users begining monday 25 Jun with unpredictable problems. While I tried to figure out the possible reasons, the emails went on flooding my inbox with similar strange problems.

And finally when I logged in to my Hosting account, I read the alert mail by service provider regarding Adhara Hardwar/Software updates which caused eUttaranchal services to behave abnormally all of a sudden. I wasn’t late to identify and FIX the problem area. However, I strongly regret for the problems experienced by eUttaranchal users. At the same time, I feel obeliged to the users who took the pain to report the problem of the issue would have remained for long.

Lesson Learnt:

1. Regulary keep on reading the alert emails from your service providers.

This is not everything about eUttaranchal Members’ Central! The single user id and password will grant you the full access to all the services being offered (or to be released) by eUttaranchal and/or its network sites. We will soon synchronise this with eUttaranchal Matrimonials.

“Uttarakhand Villages” goes live today with over 15800 village demographics.

Uttarakhand lives in the Villages. More than 75% of Uttarakhand’s population consist of rural population. Though the conditions of villages have improved a bit in past years, there is yet a lot to change and transform.

Our database contains demographics of 15828 villages/towns from Uttarakhand. The census data has been taken from India Census 2001 and the other data is user generated.

We will also gather village data from the general public and eUttaranchal users in particular to contribute to the village database and make it information rich.

The “Uttaranchal Villages” will contain demographic information of every single village of Uttaranchal based on 2001 census. Further, it will offer the community to add their villages (if not in the list) and also update additional information about the villages.

“Uttarakhand Villages” is a community portal, so join in and share information about your village or hometown!
